Domino’s is creating 5,000 jobs in UK & Ireland to staff new restaurants and support the company in a busy sporting year in 2016.

The company has said it will have opened in excess of 50 sites by the end of 2015 taking the total number of UK sites to more than 900.

Domino’s is predicting the impact of sporting events such as Euros 2016 and the Olympic Games in Rio could mean orders exceed 7 million pizzas during the Euros alone.

To meet the demand, Domino’s is looking to recruit an additional 1,500 drivers alone across the UK as well as in-store team members, pizza makers and franchise managers.

The new recruits will be supported by the Domino’s online induction programme and management training system it will launch in the New Year.

“We have seen continued healthy growth in the business this year with like-for-like sales up by over 14% in the UK and Ireland in Quarter 3 of 2015. Our digital ordering now represents 77% of our delivered sales with nearly 50% made on our app. There are some exciting innovations coming in the next few months to make ordering even easier as we are gearing up for a strong 2016,” said Scott McLeod, operations director for Domino’s Pizza UK.

“There’s never been a more exciting time to join the Domino’s family. With everything 2016 has in store, we believe we could be looking at an extra 15 million pizzas next year. We employ people who want a fun, dynamic and spirited workplace. Our teams always demonstrate integrity, honesty and reliability and of course a real passion for pizza goes a long, long way,” said McLeod.
