Restaurant owner Mick Callaghan launched an “anti-price” menu at his Penn Central restaurant in Poole, Dorset, last week when 30 customers were asked to pay what they thought a fair price for their food. The menu will become a permanent fixture on Wednesday and Thursday nights. It is intended to boost midweek trade and shake up the local restaurant scene. Callaghan said the money handed over on the first night had been fine, while the feedback from diners was overwhelmingly positive. But drinks were not included in the “fair price” deal.
