Paul UK, the London-based French concept, has confirmed it will open its first site outside of London in Oxford in early December.

As revealed by M&C Report last month, the group has also lined up five further openings for 2015, including as second regional opening in Newbury.

The new site in Oxford’s high street will take Paul’s total number of UK sites up to 31.

The group has identified 100 locations across the UK, which could suit one of its three trading models.

M&C Report understands that the group’s projected estate figure could double if the trial of the group’s new café and retail concept, which was recently launched in Covent Garden, is successful.

Alongside the brand’s selection of pâtisserie, viennoiserie, gourmet salads and sandwiches, a new range of Christmas and hot seasonal products including soups, croques and pizza will also be available.

Jean-Michel Orieux, chief executive of Paul UK, said: “Oxford is the ideal location for our first bakery outside of London as we believe it has a wonderful balance of cultural heritage, a well-established local community and vibrant economic and tourism activity which can clearly embrace the growth of our business.

“We think that Paul will be a great addition to the busy High Street and that the people of the area will enjoy our exclusive range of traditional, hand-crafted bakery and fine pâtisserie products.”
