Carlsberg is the “fastest growing brewer in the world,” according to chief executive Jorgen Buhl in an interview with The Sunday Telegraph.
He predicts that Eastern Europe and South-East Asia will account for 65-70% of Carlsberg’s earnings, compared to 55% now. He highlights Russia, believing that it can produce annual volume growth of 3-5% for the next few years and that Carlsberg will continue to perform better than that.
Buhl says there will be more beer industry consolidation and envisages malt-based drinks targeted at women, such as the Eve brand it has launched in Switzerland, in the future.
