Two in five operators (43%) say they have been busy or very busy since rules were eased last week, according to Lumina Intelligence’s Hospitality Leaders Poll.

A third of respondents (34%) said they had moderate levels of trade while only 9% described their experience as very busy.

Around a quarter of respondents of (23%) say business has been very poor and not worth opening.

Of those surveyed, 70% mention investing in outside space for dining or sitting.

To avoid no-shows, 28% said they had increased communications with the booker, while 50% said they were not taking bookings.

Among all respondents to the study, 77% are confident in the future of their business, up five percentage points week-on-week.
