Five per cent of fine wines on the markets are fake, says the Financial Times in an FT Wine Investment Special. It provides a list of tell-tale signs of a fake fine wine, such as the wrong bottle shape or errors on the label. Other giveaways are corks with an incorrect vintage stamp and old red wines with unusually deep colour that taste far too young and do not throw a sediment. Other articles in the supplement include a report on how wine investment funds are flourishing and the opportunities for buying Bordeaux. Financial Times (FT Wine) 10/06/06 page 1-8
