Scottish Brewers has signed a supply deal with pub and club operator Castle Leisure Group worth £25m over the next ten years, reports The Scotsman. The agreement, which covers the next 18 months, brings Castle’s arrangement with Carlsberg to an end after 22 years. Castle’s chief executive, Paul Smith, told the newspaper: "Scottish Brewers has shaped themselves to become the leading brewer in the UK, constantly adding to its portfolio of brands." In addition, Smith has won the Industry Achievement award at the Scottish Licence Trade News Awards, held 27 October in Glasgow. The judges were impressed with the Castle boss’s employee training methods, as well as his industry-led work in Scotland. In addition, the company won the Independent Operator of the Year, and its City, Edinburgh was adjudged Nightclub of the Year.
