Purity Brewing Company, the Warwickshire brewer, has announced two key appointments and revealed that it’s like-for-like sales increased 44% in December. The company has appointed Simon Lewis, who has previously worked for companies including Bass, Red Bull and Monster, to the role of head of sales and distribution. Meanwhile, Ian Black, formerly of local hauliers MPF Group, has been named warehouse and logistics manager. Paul Halsey, Purity managing director, said: “Over the past six years the team has worked incredibly hard to deliver Purity’s award-winning beers and business success. The time has come to appoint additional people to help take the business to the next stage. It is a significant investment for the company and will enable us to prepare for delivering growth following the brewery expansion.” The company saw turnover rise 26% to £2.63m in the year to the end of September 2011 as it registered c.100 new accounts and saw its volumes lift among key retailers.
