The price of a pint of beer will have almost doubled in real terms by 2025, according to a survey by Mint, a credit card division of the Royal Bank of Scotland. Mint said the levels were based on past duty increases continuing. Beer will nearly double from an average £2.09 a pint last year to £4.08 in today's prices. Cigarettes are forecast to increase by 92% from £4.44 last year to £8.54.
