Vending machines in workplaces, railway stations and other public places will soon be able to serve up hot pizza in just a minute and a half. The first machine, which sells pizzas for £4 each, went on trial last week in Bournemouth and more are set to follow. Franco Longi, managing director of The Wonder Pizza UK, which imports the machines from the US, said about 200 pizzas had been sold in the first four days. The machines allow customers to select choice of topping. They then unwrap the vacuum packed pizza, cook it, and serve it on a cardboard plate. The company plans to install 2,000 of the £15,000 vending machines over the next two years.
