Heineken UK, the UK arm of the global brewer, has appointed Jacco van der Linden as its new marketing director. He joined parent company Heineken NV in 1999 and has held a number of senior roles with the firm, including his current position of marketing director and executive board member at Nigerian Breweries. The marketing director role was previously held by Sarah Warby, who left the company in June after more than seven years. Van der Linden will report directly to UK managing director Stefan Orlowski, who said: “Jacco is an accomplished leader and a true commercial professional with experience across sales and marketing, in emerging and mature markets. "He brings with him a wealth of experience in portfolio management and brand development and will be able to focus on our brands-led agenda, build on our category vision work and further accelerate innovation across the beer and cider categories in the UK.” Van der Linden said: “I am excited to have the opportunity to work in the UK market with its long standing beer and cider tradition and its large variety of products and players. "Having worked in one of the world’s largest and fastest- growing emerging beer markets for the past three and a half years, it will be an interesting challenge to work in one of the largest mature beer markets in the world. I look forward to work with the UK team and contributing to the further success of the company.”
