Coors Brewers, the UK arm of the American brewer, has announced 100 redundancies at its Burton head office. The job cuts will be made from across a range of functions including marketing, human resources and finance. Spokesman Paul Hegarty told M&C: "This is part of an ongoing process to ensure we are as cost effective as possible. Brewing is a very competitive business and this is about right-sizing the business." The cuts come shortly after Peter Swinburn was appointed as chief executive of Coors Brewers, which makes Britain’s biggest selling lager, Carling. Swinburn replaced Peter Kendall, who retired.
