Christopher Carson, the chief executive of Constellation Wines, is to retire within the next six months. Following his retirement, Carson will take on the role of non-executive chairman of Constellation Europe, for two years. The company also announced the promotion of Dan Townsend to the newly-created role of European trading director with immediate effect. Prior to the move, Townsend was UK trading director. Townsend will be supported by Peter Spencer, who takes on the role of senior vice president - UK sales, wine.
