The rise of fashionable cocktail bars and younger drinkers are fuelling a comeback for sweet, sickly liqueurs of yesteryear, such as Cointreau, Drambuie and Chartreuse. VinExpo figures show sales rose by almost 25% over the past four years. A generation of young people who grew up drinking alcopops are increasingly graduating to cocktails which incorporate the liqueurs, hand in hand with a huge rise in the number of style bars.
