HP Bulmer, the troubled cider manufacturer said that it will still go ahead with the launch of its new product Storm, despite considering pulling Bambao, its Brazilian-themed premium packaged spirit.

The company said: "Bambao is still on sale, but it has not been as big a success as we would have liked. Its future is under review."

The company's new products division is part of the review, with the exception of Storm.

Storm, which features a widget that mixes two different coloured liquids together when the bottle is opened, is due to be launched early next year.

Bulmer issued a massive profits warning earlier this week and has appointed "company troubleshooter" John Darlington as an adviser to the board.

The company dismissed reports that Miles Templeman, the former managing director of the Whitbread Beer Company, was likely to be appointed as group chief executive.
