Yum! Brands, the owner KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, is separating its India business into its own standalone segment with a new dedicated divisional head, as it looks to ramp up its expansion plans in the country. The company has named Niren Chaudhary as president of its newly created Yum! Restaurants India division. Chaudhary joined the company in 1994 and took over the company's India operations in 2007. David C. Novak, chairman and chief executive of Yum!, said: “There is clear evidence that we are at the same stage of development in India as we were in China at a similar juncture in its life cycle, and I'm confident we will turn India into a major growth engine for Yum!” Last year, the company opened its 100 KFC in India, where it also has 175 Pizza Huts.
