The world's biggest and most expensive restaurant opens this week in Moscow. The 500-seater Turandot has been created by Andrei Dellos, the man behind the immensely successful Café Pushkin. It aims to recreate a late 19th century nobleman's home, boasts a luxurious circular space and also includes 12 private dining rooms of various sizes, each with a different hand-painted interior. London restaurateur Alan Yau of Hakkasan, Yauatcha and the Wagamama chain has designed the kitchens and created the menu. Turandot and the Café Pushkin are part of a recent renaissance in the Russian restaurant trade. Financial Times 18/12/05 page W11 (Weekend)
