A wheat-free food company called Nutrition Point has signed a deal with major retail supplier 3663 to put its products on pub and restaurant menus. There are an estimated 500,000 people in Britain with coeliac disease, an intolerance to wheat and gluten that can cause headaches, nausea and weight loss. Managing director Chris Hook says it will be easy for restaurant to stock a core range of gluten-free food, such as specially-made bread and biscuits. 3663 provides meals and ingredients to 50,000 outlets, including PizzaExpress, Greene King pubs and Zizzi restaurants.
