Wagamama, the fast-casual noodle chain, has acquired its third site in the US and its first outlet in Washington, M&C Report has learnt. The company plans to open the outlet on 7th Street as a 150-cover restaurant in the first quarter of 2009. The group, which opened its first restaurant in the US in April 2007, currently has two sites in Boston located in Fanueil Hall and in Harvard Square, which are company operated. Steve Hill, the company’s chief executive, said that the chain was planning to continue rolling out in the US and was looking at further sites. Wagamama also has a total of 32 outlets internationally - operated through franchise agreements - in locations in Australia, New Zealand, Dubai, Turkey, Egypt, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Ireland.
