Wagamama, the Japanese noodle chain, has launched a new “lounge” concept aimed at the summer festival season. As well as serving four of the restaurant chain’s most popular dishes, the new concept features a number of interactive features, including a digital graffiti wall where people can create their own virtual art. Music fans can also “check in to the lounge” via foursquare on their mobile handsets, while there will also be a resident DJ. Launched initially at Manchester’s Park Life weekender on 11-12 June, the concept will make a further appearance at the summer weekender in Leicester on 12-14 August. The company hopes to take the concept to further festivals next summer. Wagamama’s director of marketing Ingrid Williamson said: “Everyone here at Wagamama is really excited about bringing a truly unique Wagamama experience to festivals goers and to give everyone attending the opportunity to enjoy some delicious noodles whilst listening to some great music.”
