Wagamama, the noodle chain that was recently put up for sale by Lion Capital, is to open a unit at the Meadowhall shopping centre in Sheffield. The operator is due to take a space at the soon-to-be refurbished Oasis food hall at the site. It will be joined by TGI Friday’s, the brand that was recently reacquired by Carlson, its US parent company. Wagamama is taking a 5,800 sq ft unit next to McDonald’s that used to be run by the collapsed Out of Town Group and the site is due to open in November. TGI Friday’s will also be taking a former Out of Town outlet when it finishes converting an approximately 7,000 sq ft site. Davis Coffer Lyons (DCL) and Smith Young, British Land’s appointed joint agents, brokered the deals.
