Union Jacks, the highly-anticipated new wood-fired flatbreads concept from Jamie Oliver, will open its first site next Monday (14 November) in the Central St Giles Piazza development in London’s West End. The concept, which is a link up between Oliver and US chef Chris Bianco, will highlight British flavours and ingredients. Jamie Oliver Restaurants appointed Vince Hanley, an experienced catering and hospitality operator, as operations director for the concept in September. It is understood that a number of other “village-type” locations in the capital have already been viewed as possible further destinations for the concept, with Chiswick thought to be interesting the group.
