The Restaurant Group (TRG), owner of the Frankie and Benny’s and Chiquito brands, has launched a new trial concept called Coast to Coast at Brighton Marina, M&C Report has learnt. The company, which is led by Andrew Page, has opened up the US-themed restaurant and bar on the site of the former Strada unit in the marina. The concept is similar in style to the group’s Filling Station sites based in Scotland. The group is set to assess the success of the initial trial site, which opened last week, before deciding on whether to open more restaurants under the brand. Earlier this month, TRG completed a refinancing exercise that has given the business a new five-year, £140m bank facility. The news of the refinancing came as the group, which said that the new facility was secured on the same covenant terms as its previous agreement, reported a 2.75% rise in like-for-like sales for the 44 weeks to 6 November. The group, which operates over 390 restaurants and pub restaurants, including the Brunning & Price business, said it remained on track to meet its full-year expectations.
