Graham Turner, chief executive of Tragus Holdings, has been appointed as the new chairman of the National Restaurants Group (NRG). The newly named NRG, which was formerly known as the Restaurant Chains Group, is an association of the major branded restaurant chains that was set up by the British Hospitality Association in 2006. Turner said: “Bringing the national groups together enables us to project the size and scope of the £8bn restaurant industry. “We also will be able to lead on particular issues affecting branded restaurants, with the strength to lobby strongly on their behalf.” The members of the organisation include Carluccio’s, McDonald’s, Mitchells & Butlers, Paramount, the Restaurant Group, Pizza Express, Burger King, Starbucks, Tragus and Whitbread.
