The reshuffle of the Tragus management team has continued with the appointment of Sara Edwards, formerly of Orient Express, as it new HR director. Edwards will join the company later this month after spending over three years as vice president, human resources at luxury hospitality group Orient Express. Previous to that she was a HR consultant at the Department of Work & Pensions and has also held leading HR roles at Liberty Retail, Maybourne Hotel Group, the Savoy Group and Claridge’s. She joins the operator of Strad, Bella Italia and Café Rouge a month after John Derkach took over as chief executive. Last month, James Parsons stepped down as chief operating officer of the group as part of an early reshuffle of the group’s management structure by Derkach. In the interim, while Derkach assesses the business over the next six months, the group is to be split into two sections with the recently appointed Nick White, former managing director of The Restaurant Group (TRG)-owned Chiquito and Garfunkel’s chains, overseeing Bella Italia and Strada. It is thought that Derkach will oversee Café Rouge in the interim, while a search for a sector head commences.
