The Ivy, the high-end restaurant brand backed by entrepreneur Richard Caring, will make its debut in Dubai tomorrow. Caring’s Caprice Holdings, whose brands include The Ivy, Scott’s, Le Caprice, Rivington Grill and J Sheekey, signed a deal in August with the Jumeirah Group, the Dubai-based hotel and restaurant business. The Dubai version, which will house a private dining room and a 60-cover terrace, is the first product of the partnership with Jumeirah, and will open in the Jumeirah Emirates Towers. Phil Broad, managing director of Jumeirah Restaurants, said: “the opening of the The Ivy in Dubai has been highly anticipated by patrons for whom dining at the London brasserie has become a custom. It is a welcome addition to the Jumeirah restaurant portfolio.” The Rivington Grill in Burj Khalifa was the first Caprice Holdings restaurant to open in Dubai under the management of Jumeirah Restauranrs. Caring said last year that other Caprice brands would open in Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman and Egypt, though no firm decisions had been taken. Separate to the Jumeirah partnership is a deal to launch a Le Caprice restaurant in Beirut, as well as versions of the Annabel’s and Harry’s Bar, private members’ clubs in Caring’s Birley Group.
