Tasty, the AIM-listed restaurant operator, hopes to add a further six outlets under its Wildwood concept over the next six to nine months, which will take the brand to the 20-site mark. The group, which yesterday reported a 30% increase in half-year turnover to £8.8m, is on schedule to open three further Wildwoods before the end of the year, including sites in Newmarket and Canterbury. Jonny Plant, who co-runs the group with Sam Kaye, told M&C Report that the company will also convert the second Café Pasta site it acquired earlier this year to a Wildwood over the next three months and had “at least a further three sites” in the pipeline for the first half of 2013. Plant said that the company, which also operates the six-strong Dim T brand, was happy with how the brand was being received and the pipeline of possible openings it had in place for the next 12 months. It continues to seek further units in the capital for the pizza and pasta concept and During the 26 weeks to 1 July, capital expenditure for the group reached £2.45m (2011: £537k), with four new Wildwood restaurants opened in Epping in March; Market Harborough in April; and Ely and Bow Street in London in May.
