Richard Caring, owner of Caprice Holdings the home of The Ivy and Scott’s, is to launch a New York style bistro in London’s Covent Garden, according to reports. The Le Caprice owner will open a branch of New York’s Balthazar restaurant after Capital & Counties Properties won planning consent to redevelop the Flower Cellars building in Covent Garden. The 150-seat restaurant is expected to open in a year’s time at the Grade II listed site. Keith McNally, Balthazar’s owner, is expected to relocate to London to help oversee the restaurant's opening.
