Broker Panmure Gordon has rated The Restaurant Group as a ‘buy’, commenting that the company was outperforming most of its peers. In a research note, analyst Douglas Jack said: "84% of Restaurant Group's profits are generated in captive markets, away from increasingly competitive town centres. "This ratio should increase to over 90% by 2007E due to the company's contacts, track record and brand portfolio providing it with favoured status to expand in areas where its competitors face barriers to entry." Jack added that the group had offset a deterioration of trading in town centres with strong trading in both leisure parks and airports, boding well for the second half.
