A businessman with interests in restaurants is one of two fathers who has come to the rescue of Newlands School in Seaford, East Sussex, which was closed abruptly at the begging of the month after financial difficulties. Mike Holland’s 15-year-old dyslexic son was due to sit his mocks GCSE’s there and was unable to find a new school to match its standards. Holland, with business partner John Summer, who also has children at the school, offered to pay the school’s £1m debts so it can re-open. The Times 22/04/06 page 30
