Carluccio’s has reported that pre-tax profit for the year is expected to be slightly ahead of its expectations. In a pre-close trading statement, the company also reported a 24% increase in turnover for the year to 24 September, which is in line with expectations. The group said it had achieved its target of opening five new restaurants during its 2006 financial year, bringing its total number of sites to 27. Locations opened during the year were Westbourne Corner, Oxford Castle, Brighton, Chiswick, and Richmond. The company said it was currently in the process of fitting out a new restaurant in Brunswick, London, which it anticipates will open in November and will be its first opening in the 2007 financial year. It also said it had secured a site in Walton-on-Thames and is currently on track to meet its annual opening programme of a minimum of five sites per annum. The companyw ill announce its preliminary results on 5 December.
