Plans by Land Securities to transform its Piccadilly Lights block in central London, which would include the opening of a 10,000sq ft Jamie’s Italian, are close to being approved. The plans to remodel the 111,000sq ft island site were submitted at the turn of the year, and include redevelopment of the Devonshire Arms pub, two adjacent retail units and parts of the offices above into a 200-cover Jamie’s, which would open in autumn 2013. The restaurant group currently operates six sites in the capital and 26 across the UK in total after opening in St Albans and Manchester earlier this month. Further openings are expected this year in Edinburgh, Gatwick, Norwich and York. Shelley Sandzer is advising on the Devonshire Arms scheme.
