Ping Pong – the dim sum restaurant chain – is poised to launch a new takeaway restaurant service. The concept is a move away from its usual, more formal restaurants. Ping Pong – which has six sites in Londons – plans to open between 16 and 20 of the new retail units in the next four years. It is understood that this rollout plan will be on top of its already planned restaurant expansions. It is also believed that it has secured a loan from HSBC to fund the new concept and has hired leisure agent Philip Sandzer to search for sites. Ping Pong is looking for sites in the West End, City, London train stations and south-east shopping centres.
