The owners of Mucho Mas, the Mexican-American fast casual dining concept, are set to open their latest site to be called Chilango on Fleet Street in the City of London in October. Chilango will feature an open kitchen and all the ingredients will be laid out for customers to choose their own custom-made meal either to eat-in or take-away. The company, which was founded by Eric Partaker and Dan Houghton, took a 25-year lease on the site of the former Old King and Keys pub. The partners, who launched their first restaurant in Upper Street in Angel at the end of last year, have ambitious expansion plans and are currently looking for further outlets ranging from 1,000sq ft to 2,000sq ft. The concept, which is described as a “fresh take on Mexican”, is based on a Mexico-style food offering that exists in the US, serving burritos, tacos and salads for an average spend of £6.40 and is part of the new wave of Mexican outlets opening in London.
