McDonald’s has reported a 6.0% increase in comparable sales during August in its fast food outlets. Sales in its US outlets increased by 3.5% during the month, helped by the ongoing popularity of the company’s breakfast menu and the launch of the new Snack Wrap. Comparable sales increased 8.8% in the company’s European restaurants, driven by, according to the company, by combined initiatives surrounding menu choice, variety and value. In Asia/Pacific, the Middle East and Africa, the company’s comparable sales increased by 6.1%, primarily due to strong sales in Japan.
