McDonald’s Japan may have to pay up to Yen2bn (£10.2m) in back pay after rounding down regular and overtime wages to the nearest 30 minutes per day. The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in Japan permits the rounding down of wages to the nearest 30 minutes for the entire month, but McDonald’s rounded down wages to the nearest 30 minutes daily.
