Three of the central London sites controlled by Aberdeen Steak Houses have been bought by Maroush, the group of Lebanese restaurants.

The leases on the sites were sold for £900,000, with the remaining units, all in the West End of London, being marketed through agents Dalgleish. The company hopes to raise £4.5m from their sale.

The three sites are in Brompton Road, SW3; Connaught Street, W2 and Kensington High Street, W8. The deal was done shortly before Aberdeen Steak Houses went into administration three weeks ago.

Burger King and a consortium interested in opening a chain of noodle bars are thought to be interested in the remainder of the portfolio. Marouf Abouzaki, the owner of Maroush, is believed to be trying to raise finance to rescue the group as a whole.
