La Tasca reported that trading for the first four months of the new year was "good and well ahead of the same period last year". Speaking at the group’s AGM, chairman John Barnes said: "Our opening programme has continued as planned with three new La Tasca’s, in the City of London, Brentwood and Swansea, being opened since the financial year end. Initial trading at all these sites continues to be very encouraging." Additionally, the company has opened a third La Viña in Leeds. The group said it was confident that the concept could be rolled out further and was actively looking for new opportunities. Barnes added: "Two La Tasca’s are currently under construction in Oxford and Victoria, London and the pipeline of sites for the remainder of 2005 is secure whilst 2006 is more advanced at this stage of the year than we ever have been in previous years. "Overall, the company is making good progress and we remain excited about the future."
