KFC restaurants in the UK are to launch an updated image, based on the success of the 'Soul Food' angle of its current advertising campaign. The new design is described by agency Checkland Kindleysides as "soulful as well as being functional and robust." It will be tested in KFC's three restaurant formats; Drive Thru's, large high street restaurants and smaller Express outlets. An initial nationwide test of 17 sites will be completed in 2004, with a view to rolling out the new design across the UK.
