KFC is to stop adding salt to its chips, after consulting a consumer trial over the last two months. The company said: "It is up to consumers to choose whether they add salt to their fries. During trials, consumers told us they really appreciated being able to add their own salt to get the taste right for them." Prior to the move the company added 2.1g of salt to each portion of chips. Current government guidelines recommend no more than 6g of salt per adult per day.
