Jamie’s Italian, the casual dining chain spearheaded by Jamie Oliver, has confirmed that it will open its first site in Manchester next February. The city’s King Street has long been mooted as a possible destination for the chain, and the group has finally received clearance to open in the street’s Grade II-listed former Midland Bank building. The group currently operates 24 sites in the UK after recently opening at Bluewater shopping centre. The chain is understood to have already secured sites in Edinburgh, St Albans and York for further openings in 2012.
