Mark Hix, the restaurateur and chef, has pulled out of plans to open a restaurant in the Grade II-Listed Tramshed power station property in London’s Shoreditch, after residents rejected to the business staying open after 11pm. The restaurant would have been the fourth in the capital for Hix, who also runs Hix Oyster & Chop House at London’s Smithfield, HIX in Soho, the Albemarle at Brown’s Hotel in Mayfair and Hix Oyster & Fish House, in Lyme Regis. Hix formed Restaurants Etc in January 2008 ith his business partner Ratnesh Bagdai after 17 years as chef director of Caprice Holdings. Hi other projects include the pop-up restaurant 'HIX' at London’s Frieze Art Fair and HIX Outside, the events company.
