A heartless traffic warden gave a man who had parked his car in an emergency so he could help his wife who was having a heart attack in the restaurant she owned, a parking ticket. Kevin Bailey’s daughter, Tracy, appealed to the warden not to issue the £40 ticket when she saw him writing it out, outside her mother’s restaurant, called Peckish, in Sutton, Surrey, but he ignored her. The council added insult to injury when it asked for written proof of Gail Bailey’s illness although it said it had since withdrawn the ticket. Gail Bailey was taken to hospital and has since recovered. The Daily Telegraph 25/03/06 page 7
