Hamburger Union is set to open its fifth restaurant in London before the end of the year Property agent Davis Coffer Lyons has secured a new site for the gourmet burger chain on Tottenham Court Road. The former Caffe Uno site will join the company’s existing portfolio of outlets in the capital, which are based in Dean Street, Garrick Street, Islington and Hampstead, respectively. Hugh Fowler, managing director and owner of Hamburger Union, told M&C Report earlier this year that the company had no firm plans to expand beyond Greater London but it was “open minded about future development”. Fowler said: ”Our Ideal location is high footfall, upmarket retail locations with attractions to bring people to the area in the evenings as well. We think we would do well in shopping and leisure malls as well as in the more traditional high streets. Footfall is key for us.”
