Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK), the fast-casual burger brand, is to make its debut on Guernsey, as part of its franchise agreement with Channel Islands’ retail group Sandpiper. The first GBK on Guernsey is set to open next month in the island’s Market Square. The new restaurant will comprise 120 covers internally and a further 50 covers outside. GBK launched its first site in the Channel Islands under its agreement with Sandpiper in February, in St Helier, on Jersey. GBK currently operates 55 outlets in the UK. The chain is part of Clapham House Group, which was acquired by Nando’s Group last year. It also trades under franchise in a number of overseas locations including Greece, Ireland, Turkey and Dubai.
