Gourmet Burger Kitchen is to open a site at London’s O2 Centre – after acquiring a unit from the Inc Group, led by Frank Dowling. The Clapham House Group operated brand has taken control of the Inc Group’s Jimmy Monaco’s Love Burger outlet in an off market deal for an undisclosed sum. Leisure property agents Shelley Sandzer brokered the deal. M&C Report understands that the operator had been looking for a presence at the leisure complex for some time. Steven Burns, of Shelley Sandzer, said the new GBK would be open by September. The move to the 02 comes as Clapham prepares to ramp up the expansion of its GBK brand, following a £2.1m share placing to fund a further rollout and the announcement it is to launch its burgers in Waitrose.
