Alf France, the former finance director at Geronimo Inns, has joined Gail’s, the bakery and café chain. France, who left Geronimo last month, takes up the role of finance director at the chain, in whichLuke Johnson holds a stake. The nine-strong Gail’s chain was set up in 2005 by ex-city traders Ran Avidan and Tom Molnar in conjunction with Gail Stephens, founder of Baker and Spice. It is set to open a 10th site in the capital in Soho’s Wardour Street next month. France spent four years at the pub operator, who appointed Mark Ashley as his successor at the end of October. Bread Factory, the parent company of Gail’s, recently appointed Jake Emerson as its new group finance director.
