Ed’s Easy Diner, the American-style casual dining chain, will open its latest site in the UK at the end of March at Brent Cross Shopping Centre in North London. Situated on “the Patio” adjacent to the John Lewis entrance of North London shopping centre, the site will be the group’s first alfresco unit and the its ninth site in the UK in total. The chain, which opened its latest site in the UK, in the Selfridges in Birmingham, last October, plans to open up to eight new units this year. It is also looking to enter the international market through a number of franchise agreements. The group, which is led by Andrew Guy, is understood to have been approached by a number of overseas parties regarding launching internationally, with Hong Kong, Germany and Australia previously mooted as possible destinations. Guy, director of operations, said: “We’re delighted to be opening our first outdoor unit at Brent Cross, a landmark return to one of London’s busiest shopping centres. Offering a unique ambiance, our brand of stateside specialties available for takeaway, combined with our trademark service with a smile, provides customers with the perfect break in their shopping day.”
