McDonald’s is planning an offensive in the face of a British-produced drama which it fears could harm sales. Fast Food Nation premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday night with an all-star cast which McDonald’s is worried could be more influential than Super Size Me. The fast-food giant has issued a memo to franchise holders in which it says it is looking at dispatching a “truth squad” to “set the record straight” and to communicate the fact it offers a healthy menu and provides good jobs.
