The Times says McDonald’s has failed to win over all the sceptics with its apparent transformation.
They point out that less than $1 (54p) in every $10 (5.40) spent at the restaurant chain goes towards a salad or sandwich. Detractors also say it sells eight double cheeseburgers for every salad.
UBS said value promotions in the UK and Germany seemed to help results, which implied a slowdown in future months. Bank of America also warned there “could be bumps in the road”.
McDonald’s shares closed up 5% at $42.11 (£22.69) on Friday following the previous day’s bullish preliminary third-quarter results.
